Precision After Location - Combining LoRa + Bluetooth LE

Introducing 'PAL' Location Technology

By combining ranging techniques, it is possible to use RF ranging to provide an estimate of a tag’s position, switching to an alternative method to determine the fine location. This allows the user to save installation and management costs in the system.

The asset tags can now operate Bluetooth-Low Energy (BLE) and LoRa signalling, simultaneously within a single 2.4GHz radio hardware device (Tag)

When the user wants to pinpoint an exact asset tag location, it instructs the tag to begin issuing BLE beacons at a predetermined interval.

Meanwhile, the user application (running on a mobile device) automatically switches from LoRa signalling to receive BLE beacons from the tag. The beacon signal includes a tag identifier, and an estimate of distance which allows the formation of hotter/colder feedback as the mobile device is carried around the tag location.
